Canton-Potsdam Hospital

Potsdam, NY

Systems

  • TigerConnect Nurse Call
  • Bogen Overhead Paging System

Background

Canton-Potsdam Hospital is a 94-bed not-for-profit community hospital and Level III Trauma Center in Potsdam, NY. Canton-Potsdam’s goal in the construction of their new Regional Care Pavilion, a 108,000-square-foot, four-story addition that officially opened in Fall 2024, included an upgrade to their aging and non-supported nurse call infrastructure along with an expansion of their existing paging headend into the new patient tower units.

Solution

Special Care Systems partnered with Canton-Potsdam to provide a new TigerConnect Nurse Call System and Bogen Overhead Paging System for the new Regional Care Pavilion units. These solutions provided the hospital with a new software-based nurse call platform capable of expansion into the existing hospital footprint, a nurse call reporting interface to optimize clinical workflows and improve patient response times and utilization of their existing overhead paging headed infrastructure to leverage their existing technology already in place.

Navigator Homes of Martha’s Vineyard

Edgartown, MA

Systems

  • RCare Wireless Nurse Call System
  • Accutech Access Control System

Background

Navigator Homes of Martha’s Vineyard is a 70-bed community, inspired by an approach centered around small, thoughtfully designed homes where just 14 residents live together with comfort, dignity, and connection. Navigator Homes’ goal in the construction of their new community included a desire to align with the Green House Project standard, which focuses on destigmatizing aging and humanizing care for all people through the creation of radically non-institutional eldercare environments that empower the lives of people who live and work in them.

Solution

Navigator Homes partnered with Special Care Systems, a preferred Green House nurse call integrator, to install an RCare Wireless Nurse Call System with staff pagers and an Accutech Access Control System for the new community being constructed. These solutions provided the residents with an easy-to-use wireless nurse call platform including mobile pendants which affords them the ability to alert for help throughout the wide campus, mobile pager notifications to empower the care teams to receive alerts at all times and an access control platform to ensure the safety and security for staff, residents and their families entering and exiting the cottage homes on the island.
