Background

Bassett Medical Center is a 180-bed, acute care inpatient teaching facility in Cooperstown, New York. Bassett’s goal was to modernize their nurse call infrastructure as they had four (4) different types of nurse call systems, all either end-of-life or end-of-support by their manufacturers, along with acquiring a solution capable of integrating many of the hospital’s other healthcare technology investments.

Solution

Special Care Systems partnered with Bassett Healthcare to provide a new TigerConnect Nurse Call System integrated with the CenTrak Real-Time Locating System and CenTrak Automated Hand-Hygiene Compliance System. This comprehensive suite of solutions provided the hospital with automatic nurse call cancelation and hand-hygiene compliance data via presence from staff-worn CenTrak RTLS badges, and several integrations with monitoring equipment and beds in the patient rooms, along with an interface to Vocera mobility devices.
